India Gandhi Nehru Stamp Colour Proofs at eBay

A hard to find set of 7 imperf color separation proofs or progressive color proofs of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru stamp issued by India in 1973 under title 'Homage to Gandhi & Nehru' was offered for auction at the online auction site eBay with a starting bid of US $1599 by australia008 remains unsold!!!This stamp was issued on the occasion of 25th Anniversary of Indian Independence. All the proofs stamps of this set are imperf and with wide margins at bottom.

In spite of being a rare and seldom offered item, it is strange that this marvelous stamp proof set on Gandhi remains unsold. The reason behind remaining it unsold could be global money crises or ban on displaying proofs and specimens in exhibitions or anything else. Also it is observed that the pattern of hike in prices of India 1948 Gandhi stamp set, first day cover, folder and commercial covers is not followed up by other Indian stamps issued on Mahatma Gandhi. Furthermore the interest of Philatelists and stamp collectors in Gandhi theme is now gradually decreasing due to the clandestine variety of doubtful stamps being issued by small countries all over the world. The buying trend in online auction is observed for India 1948 Gandhi issue is infect due to the speculative activities of a few Indian investors and dealers.

Canada 2009 Endangered Polar Species Stamp set

On April 09, 2009 Canada Post issued a set of two postage stmps under the title "Preserve the Polar Regions and Glaciers" as a part of an international stamp campaign for the awareness of global warming. This set of two Se-tenant stamps feature the polar bear and arctic tern. Both the species are in danger of extinction due to Polar ice cap melting.
