A hard to find set of 7 imperf color separation proofs or progressive color proofs of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru stamp issued by India in 1973 under title 'Homage to Gandhi & Nehru' was offered for auction at the online auction site eBay with a starting bid of US $1599 by australia008 remains unsold!!!This stamp was issued on the occasion of 25th Anniversary of Indian Independence. All the proofs stamps of this set are imperf and with wide margins at bottom.
In spite of being a rare and seldom offered item, it is strange that this marvelous stamp proof set on Gandhi remains unsold. The reason behind remaining it unsold could be global money crises or ban on displaying proofs and specimens in exhibitions or anything else.
